Happy New Year!

It’s 2026 and I’m once again hoping that this year, I’ll dedicate a bit more time to both writing and publicising my blog – it would be great to have a year where comments from real people outnumber comments from bots!

My plan is to publish weekly on Fridays, and to have a schedule, where I talk about cooking on the first week of the month (or more accurately, kitchen disasters and how to recover from them); then talking about my garden (expect a lot of chicken related content this year, we’ve just got three little beauties who are living in our laundry for now); blogging about natural building as I embark on landscaping Stardust Farm and building a natural pool and hopefully building community at the same time; and lastly talking ritual. If there’s a fifth week, I might add content about homesteading, exciting stuff like cleaning products or herbalism.

For now, however, I hope you’re all taking some time around the solstice to rest, relax, soak in some sun (or winter rain, whichever season you’re at). For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s a time to be sociable, to get outside, to see friends and family; for those in the North, hunker down, and run down your stocks of fire cider vinegar.

It’s been a rough end to 2025 here in Australia, hopefully 2026 will see steps towards the rebuilding of sanity.
